When you right click on a file, do you get the option shown below, to run a Bitdefender contextual scan?

Hi columbo----Thanks for the reply. YES, I do see SCAN with Bitdefender when I right click on a file. Then when I follow it through, I see that CONTEXTUAL scan does appear. The reason I asked about a CONTEXTUAL scan was because the one time when I did a full scan, it found 60 items that could not be scanned because they were password protected etc. and was told to do a contextual scan on each file. etc. Now when I scan it does not say anything about thoses 60 items that are password protected. How do I find those 60 files that are password protected. or is it NOT a problem. Thanks again for the reply. Mike

The files may not show in a secondary system scan, as the were probably cached and no longer will be scanned unless accessed, or Bitdefender in one of its updates, "unloads" the cache files, and allows them to be scanned again. As far as as scanning password protected files, that info. can be found here: http://www.bitdefender.com/support/Passwor...-items-422.html
If you haven't cleared your scan logs, you can find the original scan by going into Bitdefender console/Events/Antivirus and click on the System scan you had completed, and under Subject, it will give you the option to look at the scan log to see where the password protected files are. You could then scan them as per the link above, if you wish to. Otherwise they will be automatically scanned by BD when their accessed or opened, so no worries there, and thus not a problem
