Redirect Virus

Hello guys it seems right after I did a system recovery to fix a corupted HD, the short time I had on the internet it seems I picked a virus (redirect virus). I am guessing I picked it on CNET, because that site has given me problems before. I downloaded hitman PRO which had done the job two times before when I had the exact same problem. It said it found 1 virus and deleted it but I still can't access the internet (currently in safe mode). I found something called Coupon Companion, on my programs and uninstalled it, still does not let me surf the web. I also have every add on in IE disabled.

Some more information, I am still trying to find a 2012 Bitdefender version where I could download it, because I have recently use the System Recovery and am without it. I posted this in the Installation portion of the forums, so any help with that would also be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your quick response, it seems like my harddrive is totally toast. It messed up again and won't even let me do a system restore/repair. I had managed to get rid of the virus and gotten bitdefender 2013 and my system was clean. Managed to use the web for a few hours with no hiccups, so it was not a virus that is keeping me from booting. I'll just end up buying a new HD. Thank you for the quick response again.

Just a question. Currently I'm using Windows Vista with BitDefender 2012 installed on it which has 247 days left. I'm planning to reinstall a different Windows OS such as Windows 7 or 8. How do I go about continuing the same subscription that I bought from BitDefender after the installation process?
