Have you managed to enter the PIN to unlock that system?

If you are using a wireless keyboard, it will not work. Connect an USB/PS2 keyboard and enter the PIN using the number keys from the left side(not from the Num Pad).

I'm having the exact same issue with a demo version of the Family edition of Bitdefender that I was evaluating to see if i should purchase it.

I wanted to test the lock feature so locked my workstation, and now it doesn't accept any keyboard input.

The 3 LED's on the keyboard flash in a sequence from left to right continuously on both a USB attached keyboard and also on a PS2 attached keyboard.

The computer is custom built using the following components:

ASRock Fatal1ty Z77 Professional MB

16GB's ram

Intel Core i7 3770K

Running Windows 7 x64 Ultimate

Certainly has changed my mind about purchasing this product or recommending it to anyone after this...

Its the same problem here, i was just trying the anti-theft feature on my lappy and got it locked up. Any one please provide the solution other than format. The keyboard gets hanged when it requests for the pin

I tried to key in the PIN in the way you mentioned but it did not work using the USB keyboard for my laptop. I also tried to do an F8 to start my Acer laptop in the safe mode and restore it to a previous point but the keyboard doesn't respond at all. I tried to do this with the laptop keyboard too.

Doesn't work for me though. Do you have any suggestions for me?

Same here i decided to try the lock because the location does not work and bitdefender made nothing about this in the last year so i was afraid the lock was not working also and i would not try this only if i had my computer stolen. Now the keyboard is locked and i can't insert the pin

Hp envy dv6 laptop keyboard and i also tryed a clone and microsoft usb keyboard. Both have the lights flashing and nothing works. The boot is using efi (windows 8). I don't think it is related to the keyboard model once everybody here describes the same thing.

I downloaded bit defender anti-theft and security to find my phone. I did not set a pin or anything and all of a sudden my computer shut down and will not turn back on. it says "Bitdefender safe lock" This is a work computer and it is crucial to our business to have this up and running ASAP can you PLEASE message me back asap so I can use my computer again.

I understand that the procedure to unlocking should not be easy to break but it should work whenever it is necessary. I purchased a long term license (3 years for 3 PCs) and my glad with it until now, that I locked my notebook Samsung (model NP550P5C, Windows 8 64-bits, Bitdefender Total Security 2014) and I simple cannot acess anything on it because the keyboard does not accept the PIN. No matter the keyboard works on BIOS it does not accept the PIN after the prompt "Bitdefender Safe Lock >"!!! I also tried a USB keyboard but I faced the same issue: none key pressed do anything, neither the upper left numbers keys nor the right numbers keys...

Please send me the procedure to unlock my computer. I would suggest that inside the Bitdefender Account, together with the lock function the unlocking procedure be exposed.

I have the same problem. Ill try the Anti-Theft function and my system is now locked ! The Keyboard LED only flashed but the system dont accept any input. i talk with the support and they told me i must wait 48h or more for got help. i need my system back fast and not in 2 or more days!!!!

I received and answer and a solution how to solve that issue with 6 days delay. The best is to send a message to the support (bdsupport@bitdefender.com) and get a case number.

Do this and wait for an answer. I hope you'll get a solution faster than me. Hope support is not in vacation :-)!

A customer's computer came in with the safe lock feature with the keyboard locked out and flashing keyboard lights

he has provided the pin, how do you input the pin?

Georgia really doesn't answer these requests anymore. The only solution I can offer is the link below, otherwise, you will need to contact Customer Support using the 2nd link. I believe if it's a Windows 8 PC, you pretty much need to get a hold of support.
