I have Bitdefender Sphere 2013. I have activated my laptop, as well as my Galaxy S3, and I have added them to my account for protection. I suspect with a high likelihood that webwatcher is installed on one, or both of my devices. Both devices have been accessible to individuals who would stoop to such an invasion of my privacy. For those unfamiliar with webwatcher, they boast that their remote monitoring, key logging, screen shot, email, call recording, and text message forwarding software is undetectable. Webwatcher guarantees that their software will always elude detection.

I purchased the full suite of Bitdefender because by all accounts it is the best at protection, and removal on a broad sweeping scale. I don't think that a factory reset of any of my devices is the solution. I have had this invasive and illegal monitoring software installed on my devices before. I would like Bitdefender to outline detailed instructions for detecting its presence, as well as removing this malware. I was able to get a hold of the account information, as well as learn the in's and out's of this software. The promotion and rationalization of installing extreme monitoring software such as webwatcher on any device is covered up by a general beguiling promotion of protecting our children by monitoring their activity. However, there are many available parental control options outside of this despicable malware that would fit the bill. Unfortunately, adults can use this for less respectable reasons. This is quite sad.
The problem with this software is that first the device needs to be accessed by the hacker to install the software. This can be done even without an installation cd. This method is preferred, and it is accomplished by going to their private link to download the software over the internet. During the process it is typically necessary that antivirus software, or antimalware software be deactivated just to be certain that this cloud managed program is excluded from detection during this process. It is also advised for say, previous versions of Avast to put the program in the exclude list. Either way, it is advised that real-time detection generally be deactivated at this time.
I despise this company, and their means of spying. It is malicious, and deplorable to pry into an a.dult'S life as cavalier as they do in the promotion of their product. Go to the link, and look at the shameless betrayals of trust that claim to have been worthwhile. However, think of the many other individuals who are being spied on without any cause for such an action.

Please stay active on the means of keeping up with the current build versions, file locations, and reference names for the tracking/removal of this shameless malware.
I followed articles from pcmag, and I even persuaded my university to flip the bill for the VB100 testing articles before I decided on Bitdefender as my choice of protection for my computers/smart phones. Please actively pursue keeping ahead of this company in the development of combative solutions to infection.

In later posts I will give the name of the files, and their location needed to remove…. But more importantly detect the presence of webwatcher . That is for a copy purchased in July of 2011 that lasted until July of 2012. The pertinent version/build for that period will be listed. The names of the files listed may change with program updates. I am not sure about periodic changes. However, after a year the files that they gave me in the support section were the same after a year. So I hope that this might help.
