About three weeks ago I noticed that Bitdefender started finding numerous Adware, and a Trojan.generic. Most of these were located in C/users/johndoe/appdata/roaming/windows/microsoft/local. I don't know why these adware cookies and viruses started to be picked up like that when I ran a scan every day. My homepage on IE9 would often change to blank. I would get regular portscans from nowhere. I began getting a 'missing DLL for User/JohnDoe/AppData...unspecified location' (I think because Bitdefender disinfected and quarantined the file) every time I booted my computer. I used a program (autoruns) to see what was causing it, and deleted a System Volume Information entry that was yellow.
By doing this I got my system restores back. The reason I was trying to restore to an earlier point was because there are now 7 password protected files in Dell Datasafe Local Backup--the restore didn't change that. So my question is why are there now password protected files on my HD when there were no pw protected files a few weeks ago? I've tried scans in safe mode, but I can't get to the pw protected files.
I'll attach the bitdefender log, since I'm not sure how to copy it here, except by saving it as a .txt file.
