Detected Malware Gen:variant.kazy.134666 Not Found In Virus Encyclopedia

Hi, I don't understand how it comes that Bitdefender has found and removed a malware, bet we cannot find it back in de Support - Bitdefender Virus Encyclopedia.

For Example, last week Bitdefender removed "Gen:Variant.Kazy.134666" but I cannot find anything about this Malware in the BD Virus Encyclopedia.

Nor in Encyclopedia of other AV vendors. How is this possible?

Does anyone know an explanation? Thanks!

The detection you are concerned about is based on heuristics and the detected file may not be in our collection.

Due to the very large number of threats appearing every day, the task of thoroughly documenting each one becomes intractable.

This is further complicated with heuristics, as they often times pick up things that may not be representative of the larger scope of the sample, but are good enough to prevent it from spreading.

Usually only interesting or notable threats are provided with specific names and with descriptions in virus encyclopaedias.

If you are concerned that what you are seeing is a false positive, you may wish to submit a sample and request that the detection be verified.

If you have a significant product deployment that is encountering a specific detection repeatedly, you may wish to contact business support for assistance.
