I recently purchased Bitdefender Windows 8 Security for my laptop. HP Pavilion g6, i5-2430 CPU@2.40GHz, 6GB Ram, Windows 8 Pro and Office 2013. When I carried out a system scan (4hrs12mins) my laptop completely locks up. No keys work, no mouse, no shortcuts - nothing. The only way to shut down is to press and hold the power button. When the laptop is finally restarted it seems to take forever for any shortcut to work and if I try to open Outlook 2013 and Chrome - well I go for a coffee. This is not an issue I had with NIS2013.
It may be something basic, but forgive me for being naive - I thought that new security software should actually work when installed.
