Bitdefender 2013: Info About Update

Hello, I think Bitdefender is a good antivirus and I have just installed it but I think it is a little bit strange antivirus too ... including UPDATE option.

When I click on UPDATE key, will Bitdefender update its own antivirus definition or its own software or both? Then ... is it possible to see what antivirus definition it is downloading?

Thanks a lot.

PS: I need to exclude a hard drive by Bitdefender scan. Therefore I have added a hard drive in "Excluded files and folder" because I don't want Bitdefender scan that drive. Why when I turn on my PC, Bitdefender tells me there is a virus in that excluded hard drive?

    Hello,

With the AutoUpdate feature turned ON, Bitdefender automatically downloads malware signature updates and product updates. You can only see that the virus signature goes up in number by right clicking on the Bitdefender icon from system tray > About > Virus signatures.

Regarding your second query - can you tell me if the exclusion rule was made for both types of scanning: on access & on demand?
