Here's what's happening:
I have a 1TB Toshiba External Hard Drive, when I access it from "My Computer" as drive f:/ it takes me to drive f:/ and all my files are gone. The only thing I see in F:/ is a shortcut to F:/, when I click the shortcut, it leads me to an unnamed folder that has all my files on it.
Of course, this was before I had an Antivirus program.
When I got Bitdefender, I ran a scan on my Drive F:/ and it found one infection:
1. F:/~$wcjqt.usbdrv (identified as trojan.generic.kdv.828546)
Naturally, I let bitdefender Total Security 2013 take the appropriate action.
However, the deletion of this infection didn't really do anything for my hard drive. F:/ still shows me a shortcut to F:/ but this time, I am now unable to access all my files because my computer is looking for this infection.
Two questions:
1. What's wrong with my Hard Drive?
2. What should I do to get it back to normal?
Thank you so much! I appreciate all the help i can get.
