My current machine is running WinXPpro/SP3 with 3gigs of ram and a 1 TB RAID 10 (Intel matrix software).
I created a help issue report in BDef. I replicated the issue and the menu bar at the top said finished. However the progress bar in the middle of the screen never completed. After leaving it up for 20 minutes and seeing no change I canceled the screen. All of this began with the first ever system scan I began upon installing a purchased copy of Internet Security. I had the scan hang-up and stop at 22 hours. I restarted the scan but the current file being scanned at shut-down remained unchanged after one additional hour. According to bit scan my computer scan is 86% complete at 22 hr.
So I spent the money on the software and cannot tell if I have any ability to ensure a safe computer at this point.
