Hi,
Last week I discovered a new virus on a relative's computer that has Bitdefender Anti Virus 2013 installed and operational.
The virus is a VB ****** file called uodpxwnobn.vbs. When scanning the directory that the virus resides in Bitdefender finds no viruses or even warnings. I noticed it when looking at a flash drive attached to the computer that the relative was complaining about. Ofcourse deleting the file does not work as it re-creates itself.
I managed to remove all instances of it by booting Windows 7 in safe mode and then doing a search and deleting all instances the search found. In addition I also had to run regedit and delete all instances of it in the registry.
The strange thing about it is I could not get rid of it on the flash drive even after a full format of the flash drive. Checking the contents in windows explorer after formatting the drive shows there are no files but doing a search in Windows Explorer shows the virus is still there!!! As I was not willing to take any chances I crushed the flash drive and disposed of it.
The other weird thing about this virus is doing a google search on it yields 0 (zero) results. It seems nobody knows about it? This is making me worried.
Is this the correct forum to raise this issue?
Thanks
