Attention Not To Pay Twice For The Same Product


I bought a first license for Bitdefender Total Security, which I activated on Jan 27, 2013. Before it expired, I received an interesting offer from Bitdefender to renew it with 29,95 $. So, I bought a new license, which started to be active on Jan 27, 2014, the expiration date of the first license. But on that same day, I was charged 79,95 $ on my credit card by Avangate. When I consulted myAccount (in Avangate site), there was no trace of this transaction. I contacted Avangate who affirmed that under my name, they could find only the order of 29,95$. I contacted them again, then I received the explanation: On Jan 27, 2014, I had two active licenses for the same software:

- The second license that I bought for 29, 95$, which appeared on myAccount.

- The first license which was auto-renewed for 79,95$, and which has no trace on myAccount.

So, in total, I paid 109,9 $ for Bitdefender Total Security.

Avangate didn't accept to reimburse me. Instead, they offered me to merge both licenses, with some extra free monthes. I accepted the offer not because I am satisfied with it but because it is better than losing completely my money. However, even this offer has been realized so far.

So, if ever you find an interesting offer from Bitdefender, do not rush to buy it. I can cost very expensive

  • Sadly I have been caught by the same promotional trick. Since I activated the second licence without realising it was new I cannot merge them. I am asking for my money back, will see what response I get. 🤨

    You need to contact the bitdefender support service by e-mail - "[email protected]" file an application about your problem the processing of the application will be faster

    Your post was posted in the topic from 2014, at the moment Bitdefender specialists do not particularly visit this forum
