Recover Deleted Files From Bit Defender ?

Hi

I found 6 Virus on my External hard after removed the virus I found more then 200GB removed and scan time was less than 1 Minute

So before scan it was 250GB Free from Hard and after remove it remain at same Size 250GB

So Can I Recover the Deleted Files ?

And why it still 250GB and the files on Hard now is 400GB and the Hard is 1TB ?
