Slow Gui Response

Hi there team Bitdefender.

Congratulations once again for a new BD 2015 release. You guys do know how to keep the users interest; with each year a cleaner GUI & more better performance.

But I would like to point a glitch (for lack of a better word, since I'm not an IT nerd).

Whenever I click on the BD 2015 icon tray to access the main panel of the software, the icons on the GUI are incomplete & get loaded after a few seconds.

I hope the screenshots will help to clarify my point.

SCREEN 1 - when I click on the BD icon to access it, the current screen :wacko:

SCREEN 2 - all icons are properly loaded after a few seconds & I can access all the options available. :rolleyes:

Please look into it .

Same here, but is a minor problem in my opinion.

I don't play with GUI. All modules are going well, thats is all i need.

Sure is a minor problem, but a "problem" nonetheless.

I've also pointed a bug in BD since 2011, where the antivirus detects a virus/spyware by real-time protection, the folder options (be it XP, Vista, 7, 8 or 8.1) are reset to:

1. do not show hidden files

2. unhide file extension.

I've pointed out the same to the Bitdefender team, but the issue is still unresolved as of 2015 version.

Hope they'll fix it...

I am not seeing any delay on the GUI icons loading, I have checked over the last hour a few times and the GUI loads instantly and complete.

Ahmed, I am not being difficult or supportive of BD, I was remarking that it is not happening to me. This is on my Windows 7 desktop, I don't have 2015 installed on my Win 8.1 laptop at the moment so I can't check although I will later tonight (after my better half has finished with it).

You don't say what your OS is. With so many different set-ups there are bound to be different findings.

My OS is also 8.1 with update 1.

Well when PC bootup BD takes a little 1 mnt or so to load everything and ull see a picture saying "Bitdefender Awake". Or is it all the time tht small delay ?

I know about "Bitdefender Awake".

I'm talking after all the BD services have loaded & BD is running.

for eg, If I click on the BD tray icon after 10mins, & then after 1 hr & then so on, the GUI icons load after a few seconds <img class= " /> (as depicted in the above screenshots).

I have noticed no such GUI issue.I run Windows 8.1 Update 1 as well without a single issue.It may be better to contact support and open a ticket.They got back to me pretty quickly with an answer to my questions.As there are so many variables from system to system,support might better be able to gather information from your system to better help you towards a resolution.http://www.bitdefender.com/support/contact-us.html

On my Windows 8.1 I only see a momentary flick as the icons load, it is virtually instantaneous, so I agree with white chocolate about sending in an e-mail contact.

I will add that during the beta stages I did see what you are describing.

No problem here with BDIS 2015 running an old AMD Athlon computer with W7-SP1. GUI opens complete almost instantaneously after clicking on the icon.

Cleaning up all the useless files, restarting the computer once every day or two at most and defragmenting the system drive daily will solve a lot of sluggish issues.

Also I recommend people do not delete old Prefetch data which a lot of cleaners will do if they want a more responsive computer.
