Hello, I am new to the Bitdefender forums, so I am sorry if I post this in the wrong section or if I make some sort of mistake.
This morning, one of my games was updating on Steam (For those of you that don't know it is a service to buy and download games online) and Bitdefender marked one of the downloading files as a virus or something like that. Here is exactly what it said:
-----
Scan Results
The Virus Shield detected one infected item.
Scan Results
File Name Infection Action
E:\Steam\SteamApps\downloading\26800\launcher.exe Gen:Variant.Swizzor.2 Moved to Quarantine
----
The specific game that was updating is called "Braid".
Could my machine be infected? Has my steam account been hacked? Is this just a false positive?
I don't know much about infections so I'm sorry if my questions seem silly.
Also, I'm running Windows 7 if that changes anything.
Sorry if there are any grammar mistakes, English is not my first language. Thanks,
-Eric.
