Application Detected As A Potentially Malicious Application

Hi,

I wrote a short application that did the following tasks:

Read remotely files to get some text data
Check the registry searching for the data loaded in a previous step
Collect these information and show in a window

When I run the application on a system with MYInternetSecurity or MYAntivirus (software that use the BitDefender AV engine) installed on it, sometimes is detected as potentially malicious application and sometimes not. :blink:

My question are two:

1.- Are there some rules to mark some application as potentially malicious?

2.- Are any way to make my application secure?

The case is that software use the same engine that Bitdefender, but in any case, if you have an application that is detected as potentially dangerous, with any antivirus solution, There is some way to avoid that?
