64-bit Detection (total Security 2016)

The auto installer cannot detect that i have a 64bit OS (Win 8.1) and keeps telling me to download the 64bit package

But it's all automatic. What can i do?

This has come up before and Georgia posted a solution here -

Basically you should run the Bitdefender Uninstall Tool in Windows safe mode and then try the installation again.
