After 27 Emails And A Bunch Of Tweets

Options

I finally found the the right person to get it done.

I now finally have BDTS 2016 working on my Windows 10 Build 10240 (RTM) computers. Hopefully it remains working on all three of those computers.

I am not going into the whole story but there were two basic problems preventing me from installing BDTS 2016 on my Windows 10 Build 10240 computers.

1. A problem with activating my subscription on Bitdefender Central. This was probably due to the fact that the license I had for four computers had been created outside the system as it were by combining my license for BDIS and my license for BDW8 Security. The new license worked fine for BDTS 2015 but would not work for activating my BDTS 2016 subscription on Bitdefender Central. After elevating the problem to Twitter, I kid not, they finally fixed that. I was getting nowhere with Support in solving this problem even after about 25 emails by me and almost as many to me by Support, so on a whim I decided to tweet one of the authors on Bitdefender's Hot For Security website. That did the trick. He jumped on it and it got solved within 24 hours. I wonder if I would have gotten faster results using Facebook? <img class=" />

2. The New Bitdefender Uninstall Tool left Bitdefender remnants in my W10 Registries. After backing up the Registry I manually deleted all the Bitdefender remnant entries in the Registry and once Bitdefender Central was fixed I was able to successfully install BDTS 2016 on my three computers running W10 Build 10240

I haven't been to the forum for a while so I don't know if there are any posts about installing BDTS 2016 on the current Windows 10 Insider Fast Track Build 10547. I did send an email off to the senior support person who fixed my Bitdefender Central problem. Waiting for a reply from him on this.

Anyway, the moral of the story is. If you are having a problem with Bitdefender that is dragging on and on and have an open support ticket just tweet about it to someone who writes for Bitdefender's Hot For Security website and hopefully he/she will respond to promptly fix the problem that has been dragging on.
