How To Extend Bis 2016 Subscription For No. Users - Not No. Years?

I already have a BIS 2016 licence for 3 users / 1 year. I now have additional devices (5 total). I rashly thought I could purchase a further licence for 3 users / 1 year and apply to my subscription to cover the additional devices. However, when I did this I found it extended the existing 3 user licence period to 2 years! (Not what I need.)

How can I change my existing subscription to cover 6 users / 1 year, (instead of 3 users / 2 years)?
