I've been having issues with my laptop (windows 10) within the past month. I don't know why seeing as I have not downloaded anything recently and I hardly go on but will be needing it more often for school coming up. The first thing that happened on my laptop after logging in, was windows security center message popup telling me that anti-spyware was turned off. When i would try to turn on the bitdefender anti-spyware i couldn't,the same thing with windows anti-spyware.
Recently bitdefender ran an automatic scan and told me my PC was vulnerable and needed to take care of updates immediately. So I went with the updates bit defender said i needed to do and then i restarted my laptop and everything was fine.
Every other time i went on my laptop a message would pop up telling me i need to restart my computer for updates which i did many times. Yesterday when i powered on my laptop it finally said "windows is updating .. do not turn off PC" It took very long which was unusual and then when it was done it restarted it self and said something along the lines of "windows could not complete updates. Undoing changes" this took very long and this would keep popping up every time i powered off/turned on my computer. I turned it off and left it for a day and it went to the normal login screen but once i logged in it again said "i need to reboot/restart my PC for updates" Nothing is working at this point i cannot update or turn on antispyware
The short:
-i have windows 10 and bitdefender total protection
-i cannot update ANYTHING (windows,office,java,etc.)
-I cannot turn on antispyware
-ive tried repairing bitdefender, this fixed nothing.
-I tried going into system configuration on the boot tab to launch into safe mode and i could not press anything on there.
-I also tried going into rescue mode and i got a message from bitdefender saying "Bitdefender encountered error 258 while restarting in rescue mode.
-Going into windows settings> update and security> recovery to try and reset/wipe my computer, I cannot even do this. It doesnt let me no matter how many times i click, nothing pops up.
- i can not shut off or restart my laptop with the whole update thing happening again and saying "windows could not update..undoing changes"
Im pretty sure something is wrong with my laptop. Is this fixable on my own or should i just send it in to get fixed or something??
