BitDefender Total Security Repair Wiped All Setting and Disabled Firewall
I repaired my BDTS according to this;
https://www.bitdefender.com/support/how-to-repair-bitdefender-2017-1737.html
On rebooting, it spent a while updating and then I rebooted.
Everything has been wiped from the setup and Firewall will not stay on.
There's nothing left, and when I enable Firewall and close the window and open it again, Firewall is off.
What is happening and how do I fix it?
Cheers!

PS BitDefender Central FIX ISSUE didn't work.
The more I try out the various features in this software suite, the more I am forced to conclude that it's incredibly broken and buggy.
I dare not use anything like Files Protection as it will probably stop ME from opening my own files.
All I wanted was a decent antivirus program. I thought I had one for the last five years until recently.
Firewall is disabled (07), but when I "FIX" the issue, it FAILS (08).
Even my device name and e-mail has disappeared from my account info (09).
And, of course, System Restore is blocked by BDTS as we cannot disable it as we could a few years ago by right-clikcing the icon.
I am dreadfully distressed. Can anyone help me?
How can I go on-line with no Firewall?
And why would "repairing" BDTS wipe everything? Windows Repair does not wipe all my settings in Windows.
And my desktop is now incredibly slow to reboot.
I get a black screen with a mouse cursor for 75 seconds after Windows Starting and a Please Wait screen for another 75 seconds before the log-in screen appears.
Is this normal?
Well, after 3 hours in safe mode etc and re-repairing and re-updating, it's working again.
I'm too tired to go into details at the moment.
Oops! Central is still saying Firewall is disabled, but it's not.
Well, I am not clicking that button, that's a sure thing.
PS my broadband dongle has disappeared from Adapters in Firewall (it was there before I updated) but at least rules etc have started repopulating.
Is this related to the thread where everyone has lost their VPN and adpaters etc?

As I said, I fixed it after about three hours messing in and out of Safe Mode, but it had nothing to do with that service being stopped as it wasn't stopped.
But thanks for that article, it might be useful in future.
As for the diagnostic tool, I used it as you suggested on another issue but the e-mail could not be delivered. I got an error message saying that BD support said my e-mail was too large for them to receive.
Cheers!0
