What has Bitdefender got against Sage accouns?

I have had a lot of problems with SBDDESKTOP.exe crashing in Sage and finally tracked it down to the firewall in BD2016. Having upgraded to BD 2017 the problem has come back, although the exclusions remain the same. It seems to work with antivirus switched off, and now that I have added it to the antivirus exclusions. However the problem comes back when I switch Active Threat Control back on. Running Sage 21 on Windows 10 and BD Total Security 2017. Any ideas?
