BitDefender Free Scan does not remove or quarantine

I tried scanning for threats today, for the first time, and the scan took hours to complete. It found 6 threats and I was able, with real difficulty, to remove 4 of them but the remaining 2 cannot be removed. The scan results are stuck at that point. How can I resolve this problem? Do I do another scan, uninstall BitDefender and reinstall it or what?

I ran another scan, after 3+ hours it reported only 3% scanned, (actually about 1/2 of my files were scanned). It found 4 more threats, the same files as before but no way could I quarantine or delete them. I don't know how to manually delete them. These threats seem to be false positives because they occur in Thunderbird which I don't use at this time.

I deleted all events from BitDefender, ran another scan and this time it worked! The scan took only 26 minutes, found 4 threats (the same ones as before), I was able to quarantine those threats and it seems that the problem was resolved. I don't know why the last night's scan took over 3 hours and was not completed and why the previous scans could not quarantine or delete threats!
