2017 prevents bash on ubuntu on windows from modifying files

Hi,

I'm trying to run bash on ubuntu on windows* to run some simple c++ but every time I try to compile a file (g++ -g -o code code.cc) I get the error message seen in the picture.

I've tried adding c:\windows\system32\bash.exe to exclusions, as well as the folder in which the code files reside  c:\.................\gf2 but to no avail.

I'd rather not deactivate Bitdefender, is there a way around this problem?

Thanks

  • Hello,

From the looks of it was blocked by the Ransomware protection.

Have you added the exclusion on the Ransomware module or the Antivirus part of it ?

  • Hello,

I agree with Sorin G., adding an exclusion on Ransomware module should solve your problem.

And yeah disabling BD could be very risky business especially these days.. default_happy.png

My advise is to add an exclusion and if that don`t help you, send a feedback so we could come up with another solution.
