MAC malware in Windows 7?

Hi,

I have run BD scan and it shows no infections. However I keep getting popups from BD saying a threat detected.

C:/Windows/temp/temp/tmp000010b7/(various numbers)

MAC.OSX.Spigot.AN

Isn't this a MAC infection? I am on Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, using BD free and have Cybereason Ransomware Protection installed.

Acer Aspire 1410 netbook

How do I remove this problem and stop the notifications? Screenshot attached.

In order to investigate the issue that occurred, write us at bitsy@bitdefender.com and attach a bdsys log with an archive containing the detected file.

Please make sure the archive is password protected with the password "infected" and in order to create a bdsys log, follow the article below:

Hi,

That is entirely too much hassle, emails, passworded archive logs, blah, blah. I spent a week in your malware forum and noone ever replied, why would I expect any better from an email? I included a pic of the event log, why not answer my question rather than redirect me to another helper? I got tired of waiting and uninstalled BD. I've gone back to avast, they answer forum questions promptly, and it does not bog down my comp using all my CPU like BD does. Guess what, my computer is running soooo fast now that computing is fun again. Happy days!

MBAM says I am clean, so does Hitman Pro, so I am gonna bet this was a BD false positive ID of a safe process.

Good bye. You may have a good rep for detection, but your customer support is awful and BD eats even more CPU than the carnivorous AVG.
