How to activate Rootkit Detection in Secure Mode ?
Hi,
I am using Bitdefender Antivirus Plus 2017
My OS is Windows 64 Pro
When I start Secure Mode Analysis, I have no option to configure the Analysis, the scans starts right after reboot ... and rootkit detection is disabled in Rescue Mode, as you can see in the picture below
I need rootkit detection enabled in Rescue Mode Analysis, if anyone can help with this that would be much appreciated (please, it is urgent)
Thanks in advance for your kind help

Hi Clannad, welcome to Bitdefender forum.

You can find some useful information on similiar topic previously discussed here:
Also you could check this nice little walkthrough: http://www.bdantivirus.com/bitdefender/antivirusplus/html/disinfection.rescue.html
And if problem persists, I suggest running a repair of bitdefender.
Cheers!

I already read the walkthrough before posting here, and the topic is of no help unfortunately
It seems things have changed a lot with 2017 release and all these documentations refer to older versions and are outdated
The sad thing is I can't get in touch with bitdefender support, I already sent them tickets through their online help page and even from the help request in the application, but I didn't even get a confirmation they received my help request ...0 -

Hi Sorin,
This machine is running Windows 10 64 Pro
I bought Bitdefender Antivirus 2017 especially because it has the feature of rootkit detection and can run analysis without loading the OS, and I am not able to use this feature that made me choose Bitdefender... sad
Thanks in advance for any further help, I still didn't find the solution and got no answer at all from Bitdefender support which seems to be non-existent0 -
Hello,
The reason I was asking is that with the Windows 10 machines we are now using Recovery Environment instead of the old Rescue Mode.
There is no option to enable the scan for rootkits. However there is no need to, the setting itself allows the product to scan at a kernel level. Since the operating system is powered down and you are in a different environment than the infected one, the normal scan will detect any possible rookits.0
