My blocked app is totally gone

Dear all

Hope somebody can help.

After an update on May 23th I lost an app - it seem to have been blocked. On the front page it's now shown under App protection.

I can see on the forum that a few had have this problem, but it has not been possible for me to regain my app following all suggestions. I can see it as a blocked app and it's also gone from the folder. I have to say that I have used this app daily for the last few years, so a bit strange behavior by Bitdefender.

Anyway: It's not to be found in Ransomware blocked application neither in Antivirus/Quarantine (delete old content is set for 30 days), so where can it be. I want to recover it as the program it belongs to takes "forever" to re-install.

Is there a hidden folder somewhere I can access?

Running Internet security 2017 on a windows 10 system.

Hi JNissen,

Please check in the Notification area for an event mentioning the app and if there is a recover button. Please note that if a file was detected, it would not try to move or disinfect the whole program, only the infection.

If you cannot find any event or recover that file, write us at bitsy@bitdefender.com, let us know what application was blocked and attach a support tool log for analysis.

Hi Daniel.

Sorry to be late in reply (back from vacation). I could in fact get the app approved to access the network, but I had no option to recover. So I dropped it and reinstalled the whole package again (which includes the app which was blocked). The app and the program folder is now marked in my system as trusted, so it shouldn't happen again.
