Unable to Remove/Recover

When I select Remove from the Box app it will not log in to my router. On the third try it tells me to make settings manually, which I am able to do using the app's interface, but then I come to a dead end. The router has DHCP enabled and rebooted but the Box app is hung up at that point and does not respond. When I (naturally) restart the app it is still trying to remove the Box. I am unable to Recover because the Box app is still hung up on removing. Setting the Box to recovery mode with a paper clip does no good because the app is still hung up. I am forced to give up and power down the Box.
