Hey everyone, I am currently doing a full system scan and its about 50% done. I am worried that it says "Password Protected: 47734". Is this amount normal and how do I let BitDefender scan these files? Thanks in advance!
wait and post the scan log ...
i`d say its not normal to have too many "password" protected files if you dont recognize them dont confuse them with system protected or els...
BD by default doesnt scan inside archives (the ones that are only compressed like .rar .zip .tgz etc without any password protection)
protection features>anti virus >shield>show advanced settings>scan within archives (on/off)+set limit for size
also beware that one zipped file may contain a very large number of files !
Hi,
You do not need to worry about password protected files as they are not malicious.
The reason you are receiving this notification is because Bitdefender has discovered that these items are protected by some proprietary form of encryption, making it impossible for Bitdefender to scan the contents of these files.
