Today, I felt the waters closing over the head of my Bitdefender which has now become so self-important that user control appears to have been abandoned in favour of internet policing. Now it is well nigh impossible to even get some game trainers to work because even when you think you have turned off BD it continues to get in your face by locking files and folders and nine times out of ten it seems to ignore 'exclusions' because it knows better. It seems that now it finds 'dangerous' files everywhere yet ignores a raft of adware that adwcleaner mops up easily.
I appreciate that the dangers of being user friendly are hard to separate from virus friendly but please could we have a password protected switch to turn the thing completely off when we have made a reasoned decision not to use it. Uninstalling and reinstalling are not user friendly nor are people who decide how you vill use the internet.
