All files encrypted with .keepcalm (globeimposter 2.0) ransomware !

I am using Bidefender Total Security 2018 - This week my pc succumbed to the keepcalm ransomware even though I had my virus protection on.

This is how the criminals gained entry to my pc. I had a second admin account with a weak password ; which I often used for internal networking. Once they gained entry using remote desktop they droped the ransomware onto my drive.

Bitdefender did not pick up that my files were being encrypted. I have recent backup's of my files which i used to recover my files.

My concern is why did Bitdefender not pick up this ransomware AT ALL ! ! !

Hello! Do you have folder protection turned on? In which folders, files were encrypted, how did the virus start?

I don't know how the virus was activated or started ; Ransonware Protection was ON - no folders were specifically specified.

Strangely, this ransomware, was discovered a year ago.
