Confirmprize.com malware getting through

Hi, I have malware that attempts to open up my browser and redirect to that url every minute and bitdefender is not picking it up. I deleted my browsers incase it was caused by add on but the issue persists in getting a promt to select a program to open the malware 'file' which has no name. I had a quick search online and it seems to be a fairly new problem and i couldn't find any fix.

Are you running an older version of Skype? I have seen a lot of posts pointing to Skype causing these pop-ups.

Thanks for the responses. I've updated my Skype to the latest version so hopefully that fixes things. If not i'll go ahead and send the required info.

Just here to say thanks! It's almost a month that I tried all kind of antivirus/antimalware to get rid of these popups (chrome and firefox), without success. And the solution was Skype.

I was using an older version because in the new there is no way to sort contacts by online/offline status.
