I have been getting the same notification all day. I have cleared my cache twice - and it still pops up. I have ran two scans. How do I run a Bdsys.log?

Hi I have tried multiple times to send the log via the Customer Care page. it keeps timing out. So I am dropping it here. Hope this helps.

If this is the wrong place to 'hand a file' over can you give me an alternate to the customer care page. As that never works, I've tried at least 5 or so times and it crashes or times out every single time.

I have removed all extensions I no longer use or are recent additions. Even after doing this and running another scan, and scanning with malawarebytes I still get the issue arise every time I open a fresh page. It doesn't seem to want to go away, and can't be found by any virus scan.

I keep getting this notice every 2 minutes or so when I'm on the internet..."The file C:\Users\sjsda\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Cache\f_000bea has been detected as infected. The threat has been successfully blocked, your device is safe." JS:Advare.Agent.VTZ keeps trying to attack and Bitdefender keeps quarantining it. How do I stop this??? I've also created a BDSyslog but can't send it to you. I have tried multiple times to send the BDSyslog via the Customer Care page. it keeps timing out. Gmail won't let me send it to you either. Help Please.

Drop your syslog into the bottom of a new post. I had to do it that way as well, because the customer care page doesn't work. I am getting to the point where I'm going to wipe and start again. As no one it seems has a clue as to what this virus is, or how to combat it. kind of frustrating, especially as I've tried other ways and nothing seems to actually find it if you scan. Very odd, but it always appears when you open a page.

It seems lately the user experience this issue with Chrome. In case you have reset the browser to default, cleared the cache and cookies of the browser and you still have this problem, please contact us via email with the bdsys log to further look into this.

I contacted BitDefender support and a systems engineer sent me an email on how to resolve this problem. It worked !!!!!

Here is the answer:

In order to try and solve this situation, please follow the steps below:

1. Log into your chrome browser and enable syncing to avoid loss of bookmarks, login tokens, etc.

2. Reset the browser to factory default:

3. Close all browsers and then delete the Chrome AppData folder:

- press the Windows + R keys on your keyboard

- in the box that will appear paste and enter the following line:

%appdata%

- find your Google Folder in here and then delete the folder inside it labeled "Chrome"

I've done all that, and it didn't work. But eventually the threat "disappeared". But I still have a browser redirect virus stuck in my Chrome browser and I cannot find it in my extensions or in my programmes and features.
