Do I need to worry?

Good evening,

I do not know if this is re right forum to ask this question. I run BD Internet Security 2019 on windows 10 Pro 64 and this package had also a license for mobile security.

Recently i was in a chatroom and someone sent a message to all the users saying that the chatroom has been hacked. I closed the browser and scanned my entire system with BD and malware bytes. Both came clean. All my passwords are stored on the BD Wallet which was unlocked at the time and I locked it really fast. Do I need to worry about someone has taken advantage of my passwords?

Secondly, do I need to install BD Mobile Security on my phone which was connected to the wifi network at the time?

I have not experienced any problems, lags or strange behavior on my computer. My wifi is secured according to the BD app and and I have also the firewall running.

Any help would be very appreciated..

We suspect that this is a scam. This is a common scam attempt going around at the moment and relies purely on fear factor. However, if you want to make sure that you PC is clean, you may send us a Bdsys log at bitsy@bitdefender.com.

Hello Roxana G and thank you for your input.

Could you inform me on how to find the Bdsys log file? Is it an .xml file on the BD folder contained on ProgramData folder? If so do I need to send it as an attachment at bitsy@bitdefender.com?

One more thing, I was looking at windows 10 tcp monitor tool and I found a process (spoolsv.exe) that was trying to connect with an unspecified address on a port (49683) that after some googling I found to be known to associate with malware. I blocked it on the firewall but know I can not print anything. I know its a service that has to do with remote printers. Should I enable it back on?

Please proceed as in this article to generate the Bdsys log and attach the log in the email you will send to us.

Spoolsv.exe is a normal part of Windows and handles printing. The port can be accessed as well by legit applications and malware. In case the device is infected, we can tell after analyzing the log.
