Whatsapp Vulnerability

There is a vulnerability in Whatsapp announced today.  People may send a call to Whatsapp user and a spyware could be installed into his mobile.

Can Bitdefender block such flaw?  If my mobile has been running the latest Bitdefender total security tool, may I claim the issue should not affect me, even I am not using the latest version of Whatsapp?  Actually I am using the latest one.

If I was unluckily infected, may I say even I update the Whatsapp to the latest version now, the spyware still exists in my phone even I update Whatsapp to the latest version?  May Bitdefender be able to scan the spyware and purge it?

Hello Sam Sam,

The application has a vulnerability that can, under certain circumstances, be exploited. It is not a threat to be detected.It is asking the user to delete it. In this case, it is recommended to  install the update that resolves the problem. The recommendation is to always have the latest versions of any software (or at least security patches).
