How to find single malicious email / Thunderbird

Hi!

Bitdefender found something in an old email inbox from 2007 - stored in local folders. It suggested to delete the whole folder unless it contained important information. Of course I want to keep the other 6993 non-evil emails – what a question. Unfornately I don't know how to find the malicious emails with the information given by Bitdefender. Let's take the marked line as emample: With the current Thunderbird I am not able to see/show/find a numer like A2637AE1 or message ID 905.

Can someone help?

Hello,

Due to how Thunderbird work, the subject of the emails will not be visible in the Bitdefender Scan results. As a first step, you may empty the Trash/Spam folders from your email and try another Full Scan with Bitdefender.

first: Thanks for your reply. These seven Emails were and are *not* in junk or trash. Nevertheless I did what you proposed. With precisely the same result. That means, that your product is not working with the most important open-source email programm in the world. Puh...

Before I loaded all 844 Emails with attachements from the "/2007"-folder via imap into a temp folder of my current Email-Adress which is - no surprise - of course virus-scanned. There no Email was marked, whereas Bitdefender didn't find any emails in that "/2007"-folder on re-scanning.

Isn't the a workaround, a thunderbird-add on or anything else sustantial you can offer me?

The fact the subject is not displayed is not so much due to Bitdefender, but rather related to the fact that Thunderbird saves all the e-mail in a single file and concatenate them.
