Anti-tracker switch for Chrome grayed out

I just installed BD 2020 Antivirus Plus and cannot switch on (enable) Anti-tracker for Google Chrome? The anti-tracker switch for Google Chrome is grayed out.

Bitdefender was installed before Google Chrome so I thought this might be the cause of the issue. I uninstalled and re-installed BD but bad luck.

Is this a known issue in 2020? Any help would be appreciated.

That might be because BD 2020 has an inbuilt Anti Tracker, that is the case at least with the BDIS variant.

Hi,

Please try to enable the anti-tracker from Bitdefender Privacy -> Settings first.

Also, please check if you can install other extensions in Chrome.

Sorry that i was not clear about which switch i meant but it is the switch under Bitdefender > Privacy > Antitracker Settings that is grayed out.

The anti-tracker under Bitdefender Privacy is considered an extension of Google Chrome once you install Bitdefender. Go to "More tools" of your Google Chrome and open "Extensions" where you'll see all the extentions listed there now including "Bitdefender Wallet" and "Bitdefender Anti-tracker". In your case, the switch of "Bitdefender Anti-tracker" as an extension in your Google Chrome must be turned off. Well, turn it on and enable it. After that, go back to your Bitdefender to see if the grayed-out swich turns blue.
