Cannot install Bitdefender Antivirus free

I am trying to install Bitdefender Antivirus free on my Windows 10 laptop, but I get a Bitdefender Agent window opening with an error message "There was an error while downloading one of the installation files. Please check your internet connection and try again. If the problem persists, please contact support" and then a Bitdefender Account window opens that says Certificate Error. I attached a screenshot.
I found an article below that seems pertinent, and it says to contact Bitdefender Support.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused to you.
1) Kindly go forward and uninstall bitdefender agent from control pannel.
2) Run this bitdefender uninstaller tool : https://www.bitdefender.com/files/KnowledgeBase/file/Bitdefender_2020_Uninstall_Tool.exe
3) Restart your PC.
4) Remove junk files from below folders
5) Follow the procedure available in the provided link : https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/9354/
6) Download the new installation file for bitdefender free and run as administrator : https://download.bitdefender.com/windows/bp/agent/en-us/bitdefender_online.exe
If you still face any issue, kindly drop an email to bitdefender support at bitsy@bitdefender.com quoting them with all the steps you have done till now to resolve your issue.
