Antivirus definitions between paid version and free version
are virus definitions released on both paid and free versions at the same time?
Or does the free version receive them with delays of hours or days?
Bitdefender Plus, Windows 10 Pro-32 Bit, CPU Intel Core2 Duo T7500, RAM 4 Gb, ATI Mobile Radeon HD 2400
The signature based engine are same in both free & paid version, hence they both receive update after every one hour (provided if new signatures are created by malware researchers & are readily available)
Additionally, bitdefender free does not has an manual update option whereas the paid version does.
Also, other av vendors that use signature based detection engine of bitdefender like emsisoft, escan, gdata, iobit, bullguard etc. They all may receive signature detection of bitdefender at different intervals or as per the rule set up by the respective company.

I had read that BD paid got new signatures after one hour and the free version after two hours.....1
As per bitdefender support in the past, the detections are received after very one hour by default, because if the time difference will be there then free version will be more prone to attacks.
The update difference lies in the way in which bitdefender consumer product & bitdefender business product receive it. Business product tend to receive much more signature based definition updates as compared to consumer product, since according to bitdefender malware researchers the additional definition updates released for business product for malware are not of any harm to consumers.
