BD Free install error: Cannot copy installer

A friend had a piece of software malfunction and decided to use a restore point. BD Free did not like that.

After using the restorepoint BD Free would not start.

To help him, i tried reinstall of BD Free, but that was not possible. I then tried to uninstall BD Free, but that was only partially successful.

Manually deleted Bitdefender directoies where found in:

%PROGRAMFILES(X86)%

%PROGRAMFILES%

%PROGRAMDATA%

%LOCALAPPDATA%

Cleaned %TEMP% and %WINDIR%\TEMP

Still getting install error.

Any ideas? (or uninstall tool for free version)

@Flexx Thank you for your feedback! This information has been forwarded to the development team and an efficient solution for this situation is on the way. Usually, this error is caused by leftover files from a previous installation, or by a driver conflict, thus, it can be investigated also by our support engineers.

Kindly drop an email to bitdefender support at bitsy@bitdefender.com regarding your query .They will reply back asap. If they say to contact the bitdefender forum/ community kindly revert back by saying that forum has no answer related to bitdefender free issue that is currently taking place (like yours). The issue is being reported by several people and it can be only resolved by development team.

If needed, kindly share the url of the forum with them.

FOR BITDEFENDER STAFF :

@Alex D., @Andy_BD I would like you to also internally connect with development team regarding these issue. Many people are reporting these type of issue in forum/ community. The bitdefender supports always sends the user using free version of bitdefender reporting these types of issues to forum/ community. The issue can be only resolved by the development team. If possible, kindly connect the issue with development team.
