App and browser control - Actions required
Hi,
I have recently bought BitDefender Total Security for my family. I think it is a good security software (so far). However, I have an issue with Windows Defender on Windows 11.
Windows does tie all security to BitDefender, but not App and browser control. I get this constant warning that I have to resolve this "issue" and when I try to resolve it - I am not able to. I need Windows Defender to open "app and browser control", but that is not on my computer anymore.
Has anyone else faced this issue or have a solution on this, as I have exhausted all my ideas. It is probably solvable using Powershell, but I'd hoped it was an easier way.

I'm having the same problem as you.
After bought and install Bitdefender Total Security. I always have "Windows Security - Action Recommended" on yellow alert.
Still searching for the solution. :/

I have the same type of issues: Windows Security flags up (with a yellow triangle): that both the following are turned off: 'App & browser control' and 'Device security'.

It's a common occurrence when using third-party security software like Bitdefender alongside Windows Defender on Windows 11. The reason for the persistent notification is that while Windows recognizes Bitdefender for most security tasks, it still attempts to manage "App & browser control" through its own Defender interface.
Try Disabling the Notifications
- Press the Windows + I keys on your keyboard to bring up Settings
- Go to Privacy & Security→Windows Security→App & browser control
- Under Reputation-based protection, click Reputation-based protection settings.
- Turn off all the options.
If the issue persists, kindly contact Bitdefender support by visitingSelect, How to's & Troubleshooting Bitdefender products→Troubleshooting→I don't know→Contact Support→ You will get the option of chat, call or email.

Thanks, Flexx, for your suggestions. My PC has Windows 11 Pro installed. However, when I tried to follow up your suggestions, the actual wording I found in the final sub-menus in both gpedit.msc, and regedit, in my PC's W11 did not correspond to what you have stated above. For example, there was no such wording as "Reputation-based protection". I'm very reluctant to follow advice unless it corresponds exactly to what I see on screen!

I've updated my post. This should work now.
