Why turn off VPN?

If one never wants to be tracked except by certain business maybe, why should one turn if off ever? If you have unlimited isn't the safest thing to just leave it on all the time

    Hi @BradKS123

If you're on your home network, it depends on how much Spilt Tunneling you want to or need to add to the VPN; as far as Gmail sending you a notice that your account was just logged into from a different location, or other websites sites and streaming services that not load properly. I personally don't use it on my home network. Some may like the greater security and anonymity, but right or wrong, I don't use it at home. As far as Public Wi-Fi, yes, this is where I would leave it on all the time. Just my opinion, FWIW :)

  • Hi,

I'm glad this question was asked, because I know just the article that provides the arguments for and against using VPN all the time. 🙂

I agree, I wanted this topic to get some discussion, too. In my case, I live alone and work alone, so I am pretty aware of what I'm clicking and linking to. I also have 2 PCs with BD AV+ behind a router that each has a singular purpose, one for CAD and one for CAM. So for me to enable VPN with those multiple outbound and inbound connections, could cause issues.

This was the link I reviewed before I posted here. It may not be that technical, but...
