Hello @Greg G and welcome to the Community!
Can you tell us exactly how the exception was added?
On very rare occasions, Bitdefender may block a safe website if it exhibits suspicious behavior similar to real cyber threats.
In addition to webpages, Bitdefender can block online applications such as games, services, and tools if they access a harmful link or IP address in the background. You always get a pop-up notification “Threat detected” on your screen whenever Bitdefender blocks something. Do you get this notification?
By "online protection" are you referring to the Online Threat Prevention security module?

I went to Protection then online threat protection then settings and add the exception. I copied in the exception in the warning. https://secure318.inmotionhosting.com/
Here is the notification. I have to turn off on-line threat protection to be able to work on my web. If this can't be fixed I'll have to look for a different protection software.

Hi @Greg G
I received a warning from BD when trying to access that link. You could try submitting it as a false positive and see if they deem it as safe. If so, it could then be allowed in your exclusions if still needed.
Kind Regards,
