Hi all
I cannot activate "turn on network discovery", Bitdefender automatically turns it off again when I exit the window.
Please help.
Thanks
Russ
.... so no ideas at all?
or am I in the wrong forum?......
Hi Gjoksi
Many thanks for your reply. As soon as I click "Save Changes" after Turning on Private network discovery, the window reverts to the network and sharing centre screen. When I click on Change Advanced Sharing settings again, Private Network discovery is OFF, it will not stay on. I was assuming a Firewall issue but could not find how to bypass it.
I have a Network drive that I wish to map, but cannot get access. I am also supposed to turn on DNS Server in Windows Services, but the name/service is non existant in the list. So I am quite lost and just dont have the time to persue this any further.
Many thanks again.
Hi Gjoksi.
Many thanks for your time and advice.
Kind regards
Hello @RussvA,
This sounds like the firewall. Go to Network Adapters tab and set the network type to Home/Office using the drop-down menu near its name. Then, from the same Firewall Tab, click on Settings from the top-right , then, for the network you're currently connected to, uncheck the stealth mode button to disable it.
Let us know if this helps.
Cheers

Hi. Sorry for the late responce, but I got no notification of your message.
Questions, you say "Network Adapters tab" ,where is this? in settings, Control Panel, Device manager...
Hi @RussvA,
In the Protection tab, click on Firewall to access the menu:
Let us know how it goes.

Hi Alexandru_BD
Thanks for the instructions, but unable to get Home/Office network to remain selected. Reverts to Dynamic when I close the window. Stelth mode is off, but still cannot turn on network discovery in Advanced share settings or map a network HDD.
any other ideas?
Have you tried to map a network HDD with Bitdefender uninstalled? The network type should be selected from the picklist:
I think it's best to get in touch with the technical support teams, as I'm not sure I can pinpoint the root cause here.
You can contact the Support Teams by choosing one of the available channels here:

Thanks. Will try that when the workload drops a little.
