Dell Laptop Freezing Pointer

Hello, can anyone help solve my problem, my dell laptop pointer controlled by the touchpad keeps freezing sometimes for a couple of seconds and sometimes a bit longer. Both buttons still work, I have turned off gestures but nothing I am trying is helping except connecting a usb mouse.

I have tried to update the driver and tried to change settings in the Dell folder but to no avail.

Doe's anyone have the solution or ideas to try?

I went onto Dell website and updated drivers and bios, and my notebook is now working like a dream.
