Can I Continue The Subscription For BD Antivirus Plus, But Without The VPN?

The BD VPN doesn't work well for me (uninstalled it since beginning trial), can I buy the antivirus without the VPN? The antivirus works well (I think). Appreciate an answer soon please, need to determine all security packages before it renews.Thank you in advance.

Yes, you can buy the Antivirus Plus without having to purchase the Premium VPN. The VPN that came along for the ride with AV Plus was a complementary 200 MB a day version, for people to see if they liked it or not, to possibly upgrade to Premium if desired.

I'll jump in here as well with a few mentions.

All customers that use one of our security suites also benefit from 200 Mb/day of free VPN encrypted traffic, therefore we need to install the app so the customer can utilize the full functionality of the product they chose. This means that the standard version is included by default in your Bitdefender product on Windows, Android, macOS, and iOS and the VPN app is installed automatically alongside your Bitdefender security solution.

All Bitdefender apps are easily removable via standard platform specific mechanisms (eg for Windows, go to Programs & Features), so if you do not require a VPN, you can easily uninstall it.

But since you are using Premium Security, I assume you are refering to the Premium VPN that comes with it. The Premium Security suite cannot be purchased/renewed without its components, but you can get the next best thing with Total Security. However, keep in mind that your Premium Security also includes the Password Manager, thus in the event you wish to downgrade to Total Security, you'll loose this service and if you still require it you must purchase it separately.

I have noticed that you have a Digital Identity Protection subscription as well. Here you have two options, you can choose to keep it like it is, or in the event you require both the Digital Identity Protection and the Password Manager next to the antivirus, you can have a look at the Ultimate Security mega-suite instead.

So as you can see, there's something for everyone and your best choice depends on your budget and protection requirements. If you don't require password protection nor unlimited VPN, you can simply opt for the advantageous Total Security when the renewal time comes. Just make sure to disable the automatic renewal for your current Premium Security subscription in this case, so that it doesn't renew itself on the due date.
