Free Edition For Windows 7?

Is the latest BitDefender Free Edition compatible with Windows 7? It is a 32bit netbook with Windows 7 Starter. -_-

  • No mention of Windows 7 in the System Requirements so it would appear not.

Yes, I already read the system requirements. I just assumed that the page hadn't been edited but the latest version supported Windows 7. The latest is v10 for BD Free, which is the 2009 edition? Softpedia had a different build number on their site, compared to Cnet. Why wasn't a 2010 build made for the free edition? When will BD Free 2011 be available for download, if they continue to support it?

    Hello WinDefend,

BitDefender Free 2009 is compatible with Windows 7 and the latest version can be downloaded from here.

All I can tell is that the release date for the BitDefender Free 2011 version is not known at this time. :)

Let me know if you have any other questions.

    By the way...

I found these two sites on google and it looks like they are editing the installer to create a limited free edition of the Pro version. Is this legal?

    Hello WinDefend,

The same information as above still goes. The release date of BitDefender Free Edition 2011 is not known (for other of regions).

As for the links you posted, I am not aware of them and I would not give them too much consideration. For the same reason they were also edited. :)

Since there are no other issues to discuss and considering the purpose of this forum, I will close this topic.

Thank you for your understanding and have a very nice day. :)
