No Safepay After Installation

Hi Vladimir
Did a Safepay Desktop shortcut install? Try a PC restart.
Otherwise, try running a repair and see if that helps: http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=35489

Hi Columbo,
Thanks for reply
There is no safepay shortcut either. I did repair and restart already
I have tried now on laptop also. But no luck either. Laptop haven't had any version of Bit Defender before.
Kind regards,

Interesting point about the laptop, as that was a clean install, and not a PC that may have had left over BD registry keys. Did you run any uninstall tools for any previous AV solutions that the PCs had on them, including the ones for Bitdefender? 2012 uninstall tool/2nd link: http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?act...f=241&id=44 2013 uninstall tool: http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=35804
All other AVs: http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=36510
Maybe someone else will have some ideas, or Christian will have to help you with this.

Hi,
Thanks again
For PC with TS 2012 - I have uninstalled with uninstall tool provided by Bitdefender
On laptop I have had Microsoft Security essentials - removed from Programs and Features
I have also read installation guide, and was using standard installation method.
On both systems I have Windows 7 64 bit editions...
Best regards,
Vladimir0 -
You're welcome
Thank you for all the information you've provided, and all that you have tried, this will help Christian, our Tech Support Mod. have a head start in what he may have you do, or any further information he may need. Good job on your end, Vladimir
Best regards to you too,
Columbo0 -
C:\Program Files\Bitdefender\Bitdefender 2013\antispam32\obk.exe (path for Windows 7 64bit)
Above is the path to the SafePay executable. Right click on obk.exe and select create shortcut on desktop. This will allow you to run SafePay.
I don't know why there is no shortcut created. Hopefully, obk.exe even exists on your system. Christian will need to figure that part out.0 -
Thanks Charyb,
Thanks a lot
I have found the obk.exe on both PC and laptop and I am able to start it.
Only strange thing is that it is on full screen on both But that should not be a problem.
Kind regards,
Vladimir0 -
That is how it runs, full screen, as it's creating it's own "environment".
You can also right click the shortcut and pin it to your Start Menu.
+1 for Charyb's idea

Colombo and Charyb Thanks a lot guys again for your effort
Now my (third in a row) Bitdefender product works
Many thanks again
Best regards,
Vladimir0 -
You're welcome..but I will have to give this one to Charyb
I would just like to have known what the install glitch was, but, you're up and running.
Thank you for monitoring your thread so closely, as this is always rewarding when you can go back and forth to resolve an issue.
Cheers, Vladimir

You're welcome Vladimir. I still wonder why the shortcut was not created at install.
Do either of you feel that having a shortcut to SafePay in the context menu of the tray icon is a good idea? Do you think it is worth a feature request?0 -
Hi friend
I think with the ability of having it on the Start menu, of the desktop shortcut, and also being able to pin it to the Taskbar, may be enough options for how much it may, or may not be used?
Just my thoughts0 -
Hi again, Vladimir
Just thought this may help get you started, a quick and easy post on using Safepay.
http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=1511260 -
You do have a good point. I suppose adding things like this would create unnecessary clutter.
Thank you0 -
Sorry, I was away a bit playing with it Thanks for the manual
If everything works from the box as it should it may not be necessary in context menu of tray.
On the other hand, that option would be very handy Just opinion from my side... I used context menu on some tray icon on regular basis

Now that I think about this, I would like to see it somewhere in the GUI or context menu. If the SafePay shortcut is deleted or in your case never created, how is anyone supposed to find it considering it is not named SafePay and it is in a folder that a person would never think to look?

There you go, thinking again....lol, with some good follow up thoughts at that
In the Console, yes, as that is the 1st place I looked for Safepay when in installed the 2013 version. I understand that the settings may have to stay within the Safepay environment for each website you have bookmarked, as to how you want it to respond (i.e. away open, always ask etc.) yet it also would be nice to have a General Setting for Safepay to always ask, always open, in general, for site preferences that haven't been associated within Safepay.
Yes, for the console Safepay option Your idea of a Feature Request for this would get my vote.0 -
Same for me - no Safepay anywhere to be seen. However, the first time I logged in to my bank, hey presto, a Safepay dialog popped up. I said yes to it but it didn't work too well. I could not find any means of turning it off so I had to remove Bit Defender and reinstall it to get back control.
At least Bit Defender doesn't give me blue screens of death like Kaspersky 2013 did (which is why I switched)
Best wishesHi all,
I have just installed BitDefender Total Security 2013 on my PC, afer uninstalling TS 2012.
I can see that I have no option for Safepay. It can't be found in Programs>Bitdefender 2013>
Please advise if someone has expreienced this kind of problem.
Best regards,

Hello everyone,
@ blueskyabove,
I have a similar problem, with a Safepay something's not right.
Pay attention to this link
There you can find a path to Safepay icon.
Also you check this link
I'm sure they are working to resolve this and i hope that we will soon get a notice from Christian regarding this issue.

I also come from Microsoft Security Essentials, and no icon for SafePay was created on the desktop.
I created it with the instructions above.
Didn't test it, but maybe is a reboot after uninstalling MSE required for the icon to be created: didn't do that :-)0 -

I had the same problem, but here is how I solved it:
1) Uninstall Bitdefender fully and reboot.
2) Run the removal tool here
3) Reboot
4) Download and run the full installer from here.
That should, hopefully, take care of the problem for you.0 -
I am going to try this uninstall, reboot, uninstall, reboot, and install from here caca stuff. I am a tech trying the 90 day version of Total Security 2013. I originally installed Internet Security 2013 30 day trial and I got all the SafePay Icons and all worked. I decided to update to the Total Security package 90 day trial and I have spent DAYS trying to figure out WHY I do not get the SafePay Icon or Program at ALL! This should not be difficult for the software programmers. I had to manually edit the registry, boot in safe mode and run admin level to delete the Bitdefender files/directories after the uninstall because the VSSUPDATE and the some other BD Virus Scanner Service would not go away.
I hope this works..
I'll be back! " />0 -

It worked! However, I only have a 30 day trial now instead of the 90 day trial of Total Security 2013 that BitDefender is advertising. Unfortunately, I have 62 days left on my paid Kaspersky version that's installed on 2 of my other computers. I was having a problem with it's Safe Banking browser too. If the best I can get is a 30 Day trial of Bitdefender, I will have to re-install Kaspersky for 30 days when the trial version of Bitdefender runs out. Never know, Kaspersky may have fixed the problems I had with it's Safe Banking browser.
