Windows 8 & Autoscan

I've upgraded to Windows 8 64-bit. Since then, Bitdefender shows that it is not set to anti-virus autoscan. When I attempt to click that button 'on' it flips right back to off. The user/auto button is also stuck on user. When I push auto, it flips right back to user.

    same here

  • Thanks for the prompt support when there is major OS change, which has been well advertised early enough for developers to prepare and your program is not ready for it. <img class=" />

    All Failed!! "It will resolve the next product update" hehe, one good term Bitdefender has always been saying.

  • Also, bitdefender 2013 does not appear to be recognizing network adaptors.....so your firewall is up the creek too!!!!

    I too have this exact same problem, running Bitdefender Total Security 2013 and Windows 8 Pro 64-bit. Can't turn on antivirus auto-scan.

    Hoping this topic will be seen and an update is released promptly to fix this!

  • I have the same problem.

    I upgraded from Win7 Home Premium 64Bit to Win8 Pro 64 Bit.

    Autoscan function stopped working.

  • Same issue for me, since updating to Windows 8 Bitdefender is stuck in yellow warning mode as AutoScan won't start. Fix please!!! <img class=" />

    Hi I had the same problem, I initially ran the BitDefender repair and this didn't fix it.

    I ran the BitDefender 2013 removal tool and that didn't remove the program properly.

    What I did to fix the problem is downloaded the Bitdefender setup program for my verson and ran this, Windows 8 said this program is already installed, I was prompted to repair or uninstall, so I ran uninstall first which did remove BD, I then installed it again after a restart and now everything is fine.

    that sounds promising. I will have to try that when back on that computer. :D

    I can confirm this works and solves the issue.

    I went to the bitdefender site, downloaded bitdefender total security 2013 (you should obviously download the product you use) through the 'Try it Free' button. After running it it told me I already had bitdefender installed and to install it would first need to uninstall my current installation. I then got the option to repair or uninstall, I chose uninstall. It uninstalled, I rebooted, then it installed again and the anti-virus autoscan seems to be functioning fine now.

    Thank you Nerph and damiwi for posting your solutions :)

    Hopefully it "sticks" after a couple of reboots, and that Bitdefender will get this figured out for future customers hassle free installs (and resolved/fixed issues).

    And also confirmed. Slight difference, got the downloaded install file to uninstall when it alerted about 2013 being already installed, however, I also downloaded the full version here;

    http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=35430

    and reinstalled from that full version file. I did not install by downloading via the trail exe, due to previous problems using such a system. Up and working, all facets. :D

    Hello :)

    For the current situation let's try something else.

    1. Reboot you PC in Safe Mode with Networking.

    [How to restart in SAFE MODE With Networking]

    - Restart the computer;

    - Press the "F8" key several times before Microsoft Windows begins to load; you need to press "F8" until you will be displayed a text menu;

    - Select "SAFE MODE With Networking"

    Download sand save this file on your Desktop:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?jqmiv3td5k4w6aj

    Now, put the saved file here:

    C:\Program Files\Bitdefender\Bitdefender 2013\settings

    Choose Yes when Windows prompts to replace the current file.

    Reboot in Normal Mode and let me know if everything is OK now.

    Thank you!

  • Hello :)

    We also created a KB article with all the details:
