Web Address Blocking

Hi there,

I hope someone can help with a web address access problem.

I cannot connect to my security IP module connected to my network and security alarm system. using the embedded web server within the module . Typing the I.P. address and port number in the address bar of IE9 gives the message: "Inernet explorer cannot display the web page" There are no popups from bitdefender telling me it is blocking the web page.

I have tried disabling all features within bitdefender Antivirus 2013 plus.

changing ip and port numbers etc..

I can, however communicate with the ip module if I uninstall bitdefender altogether. A re-installation does not alleviate the problem. I have tried this with 4 different machines with bitdefender installed and have the same issue . 1 machine has google chrome installed which also cannot connect.

I can access my router web page without a problem so this seems very strange.

The manufacturer of the device uses their device with other antivirus software without a problem so the issue seems to be within the bitdefender software.

I am using Win7 64bit

Cheers.

  • Hello :)

A product update was released. Your build should be 16.23.0.1637(please right click on Bitdefender icon from system tray-near the clock-and choose "About". You should see in the left side the build number).

In order for the product update to be installed, you need to reboot your machine(you should see in the Events -> "Reboot required" under the Update module).

    Changelog:

    Hi There,

I have installed the latest build to date but I am still having the same problem.

I have added the address to the whitelist (http://10.1.1.25 and http://10.1.1.25:5001) but still can't connect.

I have also disabled antivirus altogether but still no joy.

I installeda different antivirus (nod32) on another machine which gave m the option of excluding web addresss and that works fine so the problem still appears with bitdefender.

    Regards

    Ian.

  • Hello :)

We recommend you to make sure that the Firewall settings are allowing the PC communication as follows:

    - open Bitdefender, go to Firewall panel and make sure it is turned on

    - click on "Manage adapters" and locate the adapter. It is either Local Area Connection if the device is connected by cable or Wireless Area connection if it is a wireless device

    - for this particular adapter please set :

    *Network type to Home/Office

    * Stealth mode to Off

    * Generic to YES and click Close.

Now please check if the issue persists. If it does, please create a zone for the device's IP address:

    - open Bitdefender

    - click on Settings

    - go to Firewall module and click on the Advanced tab

    - turn ON "Internet Connection Sharing" and turn OFF "Block port scans"

    - then click on Settings tab

    - click on Adapter rules

    - select the corresponding adapter and click on "Add zone" button

    - select the IP address from the list or enter it manually, set Permission to Allow and click OK

Should you need further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Take care.

    Hi Again.

I have no firewall module as its just Bitdefender antivirus plus 2013 so the firewall option is grayed out.

I disabled windows firewall with no effect.

Any help would be most appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Ian.
